My aunt and uncle joined us for a field trip to Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens in San Clemente, which none of us have been to (or heard of) before.
I found it when researching our neighboring, unexplored-by-us, city. (It is highly rated on Trip Advisor.)
The home was built in 1927 by Ole Hanson, the founder of the city of San Clemente.
The 2.5 acre property is beautiful, with interesting architecture, endless handmade tiles and a small, rotating art gallery.
Casa Romantica is the type of place that you could keep going back to and see something that you never noticed before.
The home houses pictures and information about surrounding cities in the early 1900s, antique furniture, along with collections from the original San Clemente elite.
The view is incredible. You can see the San Clemente pier, Dana Point and Catalina.
No whales today. Maybe next time...
Family field trips are the best!
I love, love, love this family outing. You open our eyes to such fun. You share your finds and make us envious (and then proactive). I love the history, too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see it ourselves.
