We have had this trip planned to Palm Springs for months, well before there was talk of the Corona Virus. We were a little hesitant to go, but went ahead and kept our plans. With our own trailer in tow it takes out at least one germ element. That and the fact we decided to focus on outdoor activities.
We are booked at Happy Traveler RV Park, just a mile from downtown Palm Springs, and 0.4 miles from our favorite ice cream shop, Kreem.
Our baby has been A1 since day one.
There is no question about that.
And when we say "trip!", she says "how long?".
The first order of business was Elmer's Restaurant, which offers plenty of outdoor seating options.
For obvious reasons, I pretty much always go with the lemon and butter German pancake with extra powdered sugar (not shown).
Then we took our baby model to the Living Desert Zoo, a first for all three of us.
Six feet of social distancing is not for the birds.
Eric and I were blown away at what an amazing zoo this is. There were some areas that were closed, like the petting zoo and the butterfly exhibit, but it was really easy to keep our distance from crowds. The place felt empty but we have nothing to base that on.
Always stop and smell the flowers.
Like I said, it was seemingly empty.
We plan on returning to the Living Desert Zoo once things go back to normal.
Whatever normal is.
I love this vicarious trip to Palm Springs. It is a town full of treasures to discover. Thanks for laying out a 'map'. I can't wait to return and follow in your footsteps. I hope normal, whatever it is, is an attainable goal in the not too distant future. Thanks for this armchair trip Brady.
