In the morning we said goodbye to Azalea Glen RV pack, and the tallest trees on earth, and family, and headed down south towards home. We decided to break the trip up into two nights/three days, and Santa Rosa is pretty much exactly at the 1/3 mark.
We really loved this campground.
Russian River Brewing Company's original location is in Santa Rosa, but since we have been to that one we decided to check out the new, beautiful location in Windsor (just 15 minutes away).
The beer is great, the building is gorgeous, the food- mehhh.
We just don't do brew pubs right in CA. Anyone opening a brew pub in CA should first visit Oregon brew pubs, and then copy their entire menu, and then hire their cooks. I mean, CA is great at making beer, but we can't be good at everything. Swallow your pride and learn from the best...
Our evening was spent at Spring Lake Park Campground, a very pretty regional campground, basically right on the edge of Santa Rosa.
It is hard to believe our Great American Road Trip is coming to an end!
I think some of us are in denial...
Oh man, I have yet to make it to the new Russian River. You captured it so very well (including the review of their food- a common complaint). I love it.
ReplyDeleteAs for Spring Lake, it is one of our favorite Santa Rosa spots. Looks like the perfect end to a perfect adventure. So glad we were part of it all.
