Scamping in Palm Springs in August. Day 2.

We decided to Scamp at Indian Waters in Indio, because the price was too good to pass up ($55 for two nights! We got an extra first time discount).
It was nice and quiet, it is not their busy season yet.

Staying here would not be an option if it weren't for our AC unit in the Scamp.  It works like a dream (way too big for the size of the Scamp).

We did the usual Elmer's Diner run and then took a walk in downtown, before it got too hot.

Apparently you don't even have to be a human to get a star!

We were on an art mission.  There are beautiful temporary exhibits all over town.

This art exhibit is in a pit, in front of the Palm Springs Art Museum.  The artist comes in the middle of the night sometimes to move his babies.

It is 10:00 and we are feeling the heat, so we are escaping into the AC of the Palm Springs Art Museum.

This is my first time here, well, all of our first times here.
We loved this museum!  And just $6 for students and teachers.  What a deal.

One of the exhibits is mid-century modern furniture.  I found all sorts of things I want in our house!

Next we drove back to Indio and, much to my surprise, I found a super highly rated sandwich shop just a few miles away.

This is hard to believe, considering the location, but TKB Deli is rated as the number one restaurant in the nation!  It was really good.

Okay, it is getting hot!  We decided to do a homes driving tour in Palm Springs but we needed a map first.

At the Palm Springs Visitor Center/ old Tramway Gas Station (shown above) we were able to find the map we needed.  The Tramway Gas Station is actually listed as one of the buildings on the driving tour.

We enjoyed driving around and checking out all of the modern architecture, even though some of us were sleeping most of the time...

This is Elvis' honeymoon home and where he lived with Priscilla for two years.

We love Palm Springs.

Scamping in Palm Springs in August. Day 1.

We drove to Palm Springs on Friday, day one of a three day weekend, Scamp in tow.  It took us two times as long to get here than it should have.  But there were beautiful colors as we headed down the mountain into the Coachella Valley.

By the time we got set up and settled into our campground Eric saw this posting on Facebook.
Ha!  We were spotted in Temecula with our Scamp!
