Scamping in Palm Springs in August. Day 3.

We tried to get outside, once again, before the heat really set in (which didn't give us too much time to work with).

Then we spent some time with our handy new "Map of Modern Palm Springs", driving around in the comfort of the air conditioned Subaru.
Although we saw plenty of beautiful architecture, there were two areas that are gated and so unapproachable.  I really think this information should be shown on the map, but all in all, with 80 buildings listed, it is really thorough.

You just have to love the location of these address tiles...

This is Frank Sinatra's home.  Surprisingly enough, it is right in the middle of Palm Springs (not in the outskirts like most of the other homes), right on a busy street!  It is gated, but if he were to live there now, he would be constantly confronted with people like me, trying to take pictures over his little electric gate.

Our day ended with ice cream at Kreem.  They were closed for the entire month of August, today was their first day back in business!  Lucky us since we love this place.

I indulged in rosemary and decaf.
At the time pistachio and olive oil seemed too cutting edge, but now I wish I would have tried it!  Oh well.  Lesson learned. It is just ice cream, how strange could it have really been?

Palm Springs architecture is very appealing for everyone.
We cannot wait to return.

Then, back in Oceanside, we were greeted with just a 40 degree difference in the temperature!
