Christmas 2017

Marla and I prepared our traditional Christmas tamales for Christmas dinner, while the girls made their traditional tamale dolls.

This year I made a black bean, sweet potato, red onion and jalapeño tamale.
It is my new fave.

This is just half of our batch.

My cousin and her family visited.

As well as Eric's parents.

I drove to Rancho Cucamonga to visit Kimmie and her family, visiting from Switzerland.

Swiss chocolate in their luggage, as always.
This is the best chocolate variety pack!

On Christmas eve we went to Eric's families' house, after dinner we walked around the neighborhood, checking out the Christmas decoration winners, and determining our own People's Choice awards.

On Christmas day we went to the Helton household.

They have a tradition of shooting their gingerbread houses and pumpkins.
"You will shoot your eye out!"

What a great, appropriate Christmas tradition!

Merry Christmas!

The evening ended with decorating Trader Joe's ugly Christmas sweater cookies.
Christmas went by so quickly, and tomorrow we leave for our road trip!
