My arms were pretty sore from surfing so I decided to spend the day exploring San Juan del Sur. First, I walked up to the Jesus statue (and the church underneath).
What a gorgeous view.
This is where some rich Nicaraguans hang out...
Coolest grasshopper ever.
I got a ride down the mountain from a nice couple from Managua, so I could explore more of the city.
I love the beach shanties.
This has been one of my favorite churches so far. So simple, inside and out.
I decided today would be a good day to buy gifts (you know, because I missed my entire families' birthdays). The man at the cigar shop was very knowledgeable about Nicaraguan tobacco (but it was super hot in there).
I discovered a street artisan, Selvin. His work is one of a kind and totally natural. He threw in some earrings with the purchase of a necklace so I sat with him for over an hour while he made them.
Gelato!
Once again, love the colors.
Found Jesus! How funny you are... The colors are amazing there as well. I think it's your mad photography skills that makes them "pop". I love the pink bags being carried on the man's head contrasting with the brilliant blue building.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your new earrings and necklace. Wow. What an adventure.
